A Taste of the Caribbean in Puerto Armuelles, Panama!

If you’re looking for a spot that serves up flavor, fun, and laid-back Caribbean vibes, look no further than Reggae Café. This hidden gem has quickly become one of my favorite places to unwind—whether it’s for a freshly brewed cup of tea, a casual lunch, or simply soaking up the easygoing atmosphere with a good book.

www.visitpuertoarmuelles.comTucked just off the highway after the roundabout leaving downtown Puerto Armuelles, Reggae Café might be easy to miss if you’re not watching for the sign. But once you pull into the shady drive and step inside, you’ll be glad you found it. With both indoor and outdoor seating surrounded by trees, it’s the perfect place to linger.

www.visitpuertoarmuelles.comThe menu is a treat all on its own. Daily offerings include hearty hot and cold sandwiches, juicy burgers, and crispy wings—always paired with fresh, seasonal sides. Specials change regularly, and Sundays bring a delicious Jamaican-inspired brunch. For something unique, don’t miss their fresh fruit smoothies and shakes, house-brewed teas, zesty ginger beer, or the seasonal fresh mango salsa on Taco Day.

www.visitpuertoarmuelles.comIt’s not just about the food, though. Reggae Café has become a hub for community fun. From karaoke nights and live music to domino games and even a BBQ cook-offs, there’s often something lively happening on weekends. Service always comes with a smile, making you feel like part of the family. The outdoor patio dining is ‘pet friendly’, a plus since I often have my pup in tow. Also, be sure to check out the library room inside, with a large assortment of 1500+ books that are available to check out or read during your stay. In fact, one of the owners, Judith Falloon-Reid, is an author and film-maker, winning the “Best Jamaican Feature Film” award for Just Another Friday, which can be found in the library. Whether you’re a local resident or just passing through, this quaint café is the perfect place to taste the Caribbean, relax with friends, and savor the moment. Highly recommended!
