We have a photo taken of the old banana pier in 1936 – the quality is not great, but you can see that it held a train back in those days! Another shot of the pier taken in 2015 – almost 80 years later.

I really love your site and I love the history you are sharing. My husband and I have been to Puerto once and loved it. We are actually coming there this November. We plan on spending a year there to see if it is where we want to stay permanently and retire.

Hopefully, the Real Estate section will be ready in a couple more weeks. Maybe you will be able to find a rental property there ~ be sure to check back regularly & watch for the newsletter updates. You are smart to rent for a year before settling permanently. Puerto, like any new place, isn’t for everyone. Test it out and see if it fits 🙂 Look forward to meeting you soon!
