烛光晚会为国内动物保护

正如暮色降临在中央公园阿穆埃耶斯港, 对面的码头, 3月18日, 2017, 来自世界各地波多黎各动物爱好者齐聚一堂，点燃蜡烛, 说祈祷, 并分享国内和孤儿动物的福利支持. Similar scenes happened in towns and cities throughout the country of Panama simultaneously. This candlelight vigil was organized to bring awareness against the mass poisonings of ‘street dogs’ and animal abuse. The countrywide event was organized by SPAY PANAMA in Panama City, with the support of it’s chapters and other spay/neuter and animal rescue groups throughout the country.

Voluntarios Por Los Animales (Puerto Armuelles Animal Volunteers) was proud to join in the cause.

There were about 25 people in attendance, along with their pets. Many of the attendees wore white and the pets were given scarves, blue for the boys and pink for the girls. There were mostly dogs and even a token cat ~ They all enjoyed meeting new friends!

Voluntarios Por Los Animales is a nonprofit organization run entirely by volunteers. They rescue, feed, provide veterinary attention, and sterilization of stray animals in Puerto Armuelles and neighboring communities. Animales support other animal rescue groups in the Province of Chiriquí and promote the rights of animals, especially street orphans.

After dark, candles were lit and passed around. There were a few speeches and several prayers in support of the cause. Animales had items for sale to help raise funds, including hats, t-shirts, coffee mugs, stickers, and key chains. They also accept cash donations and welcome volunteers.
