   It appears that Banco Nacional is the only bank in town. Are they the only ATM also? How difficult is opening an account with them?

      There are at least a dozen ATM’s located in Puerto Armuelles. As far as opening a bank account at Banco Nacional, I think they would be difficult or impossible if you are a tourist. Only a few banks in Panama, Banistmo & Scotia are 2 I am sure of, will open an account for a tourist. Once you get Permanent Residency and a Cedula in Panama, you can open a bank anywhere by following their minimum requirements.

         转到业务目录类别档案 10,000 dollars as long as you claim it to the US and Panama.There is no charge but they will ask you in the customs office why you have that amount of money.

      No, there is not a Banco General in Puerto Armuelles. However, there are several ATM’s in town where you could access funds from that bank using your debit or credit card.

      There are half a dozen ATMs in town where you can get a cash advance on your card.
