Perched high up on a hill, with partial ocean views, is the home that was once occupied by the Manager of Chiquita Banana Company. Used often for entertaining executives and guests, the home has an entertainment room with a built in hardwood bar and built in China Cabinet in the large dining room. This home is one of only two in Las Palmas that has an in ground swimming pool!
The property is expansive, sitting on a hectare of manicured lawn (about 2.5 acres). There are mature fruit trees, including mango, avocado, banana, plantain, pineapple and papaya. The land consists of 4 separately TITLED lots, so it could easily be split if a new owner desires. There is privacy ensured by a small river that flows through the back of the house lot. The current owners built a chicken coop and pen, as well as a cement pig pen, hidden in the trees a distance from the house. A quebrada (seasonal stream) along one side of the property, with tall trees that attract birds and other wildlife, provides more privacy.
There are 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms upstairs in the main portion of the house. The solid wood floors were recently re-furbished. The kitchen and bathrooms are original, functional and solid. The home has been well-maintained though not updated. There is a large dining room and living room, as well as a recreation room with a large solid hardwood built-in bar, with a sink and plenty of storage. Made for serious entertaining!
Downstairs there is a full bathroom which had a bedroom on each side of it (Jack & Jill). The rooms could easily have the walls added back on and be used for rentals, guests, children, or craft/office space. There is an enclosed parking area for 3 cars and lots of work spaces and storage, as well as a laundry area. There is a covered deck off the kitchen and overlooking the swimming pool. Perfect for entertaining! This house has so much potential as a B & B or a large family or executive home with plenty of room to breathe.
